Bolt for the Blue Campaign Setting- The Haccom Valley

The Haccom valley teeters at the crossroads of civilizations.  Historically, it has been a limited-use pass through the Greyspine mountains, a higher-altitude transit than the wider and greener Merker Passes. Historians mostly agree that, in the age of the First Kalosha, the valley’s central city of Haccom was a Seat, though its temple has languished so long that its patron deity is not definitely known.  Since Great Tyrant Ran’s ascendancy, the Greyspines form the natural border between the Savage Wilds and the Noble Tyranny.  The continuous fighting between Ran and the barbarians have turned the Merker Passes into a blighted run, where few cross and even then only when carefully concealed.  By contrast, the border formed in the Haccom valley remains populated and active, with only occasional fighting of various scales.

Finding itself in the middle of a valley hotly contested by the barbarians of the north and the Tyranny to the south, the long-independent city of Haccom nominally pledges a sort of allegiance to Ran, while not quite being directly ruled by a Magister like other Tyranny Cities.  And not only in the city are lives and homes found.  The twisting canyons of the Fayado Menor is home to communities of Kobolds, Lizardfolk, and many other outcasts, where those who only speak Common might have difficulty getting around.  And though they prefer to keep to themselves, the Leshy of the great sequoia Altwood likewise call the valley home.

In relevant news, the Haccom valley lodge of the Pathfinder Society, known locally as Glenpost, has recently issued a call for freelancers to help in their work, apparently with more work to do than hands.
